<p>LOY RACE IS JUNE 18</p><p>The 24th annual Loy Memorial Road Race will be June 18, with the one-mile fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m. and 5K run starting at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., and walkers are welcome. Races start and finish on East Canton stadium track. For more information call Kelly at 330-488-5423.</p><p>WIZARDS BASKETBALL CAMP SCHEDULED</p><p>Registration is open for the East Canton Wizards Basketball Camp, to be held 5-7:30 p.m. July 18-22 at East Canton High School in the middle and high school gyms for girls entering grades 3-8.</p><p>Campers should enter at door six and wear clean shoes, T-shirts and shorts. Areas of emphasis of this years camp will include shooting, passing, rebounding, individual and team defense, ball handling, sportsmanship and teamwork. The cost is $35 per camper and includes a T-shirt and basketball.</p><p>The camp will be staffed by varsity coach Jennifer Martinez, Marie Richards, youth league coaches and East Canton varsity and junior varsity basketball players. For more information, contact Martinez at 330-488-0316 or Richards at 330-488-6046.</p><p>LADIES RUNNING CLUB TO MEET WEDNESDAYS</p><p>All East Canton-area women and girls who are interested in running with a group are invited to meet at the stadium track on Wednesdays throughout the summer. There will be several distances and paces to choose from, ranging from two to 10 miles.</p><p>Runners will choose how r they would like to run, with a member of the East Canton girls cross country team guiding the way for those who need it. There will be fruit and other snacks available afterwards. Girls of all ages are welcome.</p><p>LITTLE HORNETS FOOTBALL SIGNUPS</p><p>East Canton Little Hornets Football (ages 6-12) will hold signups on June 18 from 9-11 a.m. at the north entrance of East Canton High School. Physicals will be provided. The early signup fee is $65. For more information, contact JT Williams at 330-614-9652 or jtwilliams@voyager.net.</p><p>LITTLE HORNETS TO HOLD GOLF OUTING</p><p>East Canton Little Hornet Booster Club and Football Board will hold a golf outing Aug. 20 at Chenowith Country Club at 3087 Chenowith Rd. in Akron.</p><p>The outing will begin with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. It includes 18 holes with a cart, breakst, lunch on the turn and a steak dinner for $75 per person. Cash prizes will be awarded for the first, second- and third-place teams. Hole sponsorships are available. The deadline to register is July 17.</p><p>For more information or to register, contact board member Jessica Preston at 330-949-6942 or jeskopper@hotmail.com.</p><p>MOUNT UNION TO HOST VOLLEYBALL CAMP</p><p>The University of Mount Union will host a volleyball camp for girls entering grades 6-12 on June 20-22.</p><p>The camp is a resident/commuter camp and includes an all-skills camp for girls entering grades 6-8 and an advanced skills camp for girls entering grades 9-12. Girls will receive instruction on all aspects of the game during seven training sessions, plus a camp T-shirt. Campers should bring a water bottle, knee pads and gym shoes. The camps teaching staff includes Mount Union coaches and players.</p><p>The resident camp includes two nights housing and meals and costs $245. For commuters, the cost is $170 and includes lunch and dinner each day. For more information call 330-823-6093.</p><p>YOUTH OUTDOOR DAY SCHEDULED</p><p>North Lawrence Fish & Game Club will hold its fourth annual youth outdoor day on Sunday, June 26. This is a mily event with free admission to all youth age 10-16 by pre-registration only. The event runs from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is limited to the first 70 youths to register. Parents must sign a release at the door.</p><p>Free lunch and refreshments will be provided. Featured events include air rifle, archery, trap shooting, .22-caliber rifle shooting and fishing. Earl at 330-832-5161 or at North Lawrence Fish and Game Club, Inc., 15325 Lawmont Street NW, North Lawrence.</p><p>MOUNT TO HOST BOYS BASKETBALL CAMPS</p><p>Mount Union head mens basketball coach Mike Fuline will host a day camp July 5-7 and a Running with the Raiders skills camp July 11-13 for boys entering grades 4-9 on campus in Alliance.</p><p>The day camp is open to all boys entering grades 4-9, while the skills camp will be broken up into a 4th-6th grade group and a 7th-9th grade group. The day camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, while the skills camp will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for grades 4-6 and 1-4 p.m. for grades 7-9. Day campers must pack a lunch. Camps cost $125 each or $200 for both. Campers should bring basketball shoes, T-shirt, shorts and socks. Families can receive a $5 discount per child.</p><p>Mike Fuline is in his first season as head mens basketball coach at Mount Union after spending the last eight years as a head coach at Jackson (2005-11) and Rootstown (2003-05) high schools. He was 95-42 (.693) in six years at Jackson, including winning the 2010 OHSAA Division I State championship. Fuline was named Federal League Coach of the Year the past two seasons. For more information, contact Fuline at 330-823-4771 or fulinmj@mountunion.edu.</p><p>MOUNT TO HOST GIRLS B-BALL SHOOTOUTS</p><p>Mount Union will host three varsity and two junior varsity girls basketball shootouts from June 23 to June 29 at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex on campus.</p><p>Each one-day team shootoubasketball shoest will last approximately 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Teams are guaranteed four games and one instructional session. Cost is $200 per team or $175 per team, per shootout if a team attends two shootouts. Champions receive a T-shirt.</p><p>Teams are responsible for their own lunches. Space is limited, and entry forms will be accepted until all spots are filled. In order to secure a spot, a $50 deposit must be received by June 1, and will not be refunded after that date.</p><p>Spots will not be held for anyone without a deposit. Final payment is due one week prior to the shootout to be included in the schedule.
